National Veteran's Cemetery

Pinnacle Peak & Cave Creek Road

This is where my father is interred. This is a beautiful, desert cemetery on the outskirts of town, and it is one of my favorite places to go because it is so quiet and peaceful.

There are many hundreds of graves here, from older WWII veterans to the present Iraqi war. Unfortunately, there are sites being added everyday, many of them being young soldiers.

The place is beautiful, in a desolate way, and your image is very powerful. And also very sad. I keep praying for the day when we no longer need cemeteries and memorials for those who die in wars.
